Cade's Stats

We took Cade in for his one year check up today.

This is what we got! I don't remember the exact numbers, just the percentages:

Height: 50%
Head: 50%
Weight: 17.4lbs = less than 5%

His doctor said his height and head circumference are great but we need to fatten this boy up!

I don't know why his weight is low, the boy's got some rolls!

Oh well, I better listen to what the doc says so our first stop...McDonald's for a cheeseburger! I figure it works to fatten me up without even trying, it's got to work wonders for Cade!! He seemed to like his first taste of a cheeseburger but he preferred eating Cody's apple dippers. I don't know what's wrong with my child, he loves his fruits and veggies. Nothing makes him happier then a handful of green beans on his highchair tray! Weirdo!

Oh yeah, when we were at the doctor we found out Cade had a double ear infection!! I felt horrible, I had no idea. Cade has been his happy self, not cranky or complaining so I thought everything was alright. I'm a horrible mother, I know!!

Happy Birthday Cody John!

My big guy is turning 3!

It really doesn't seem like three years ago I was getting ready to head to the hospital to have Cody! I was scared out of my mind. I had no idea what to expect. I was just a naive 23 year old who had no idea what she was getting herself into.

Little did I know, he was going to be the best thing to ever happen to me!

He is my little man. He is the one I talk to during the day when everyone else is at school or work, he's the one I play with, make jokes with, and best of all cuddle with when the babies go down for their nap!

He is getting way too big though! If I call him baby he is quick to correct me, "I'm a big boy, mama"

Today he had his first t-ball practice. We got his uniform (all but the red shirt) and when I tried it on him tonight, I realized just how big my baby really is!!

Happy Birthday Big Guy, I love you more than you'll ever know!
(you can slow down a little though and not grow up so fast)

Day One without a bottle

How do you think it's going around here???

Cade woke up and was NOT very happy when he didn't receive his morning bottle. I fed him breakfast and he was a little happier but that was short lived, very short lived!

The problem was, he spotted his bottle. After that, there was fighting going on at our house. He would scream and point to where the bottle was (because I put it away very quickly). He would look at me with pitiful eyes that just screamed, "why are you doing this to me???"

All day long I have received this look from him.

It's slowly getting better as the day wears on and I'm sure I'll let him have one bottle, I don't think I can cut him off cold turkey. However he's not going to get formula, whole milk all the way. We'll just see how that works out for us!!

*I have lots of pictures to put up of our weekend with Tasha, but that's going to be a long post and right now, I have about two minutes on my computer at a time, I'm working on it though*

Stop messing with me on MY birthday!

Cade woke up in a really good mood this morning. That is until I tried to put a crown on his head.

It might of had something to do with him being hungry because I decided to get a cute picture of him before feeding him breakfast, but I think it had to do more with him thinking, "it's MY birthday and if I don't want to wear this stupid crown then I don't have to"

Either way, he's still a really cute birthday boy!

Happy First Birthday Cade!

My baby boy is One today!! I can't believe how fast he is growing up. It does not seem like a year has gone by since we first got to meet this sweet little boy. He is a perfect little human being that brings us more joy than we could ever imagine.

Even though it seems like yesterday that he was born, I also can't remember our life before he came into it. He is such a good baby, always happy and full of life!

I love you so much Cade, Happy Birthday. I can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you!!

(He loved his first bite of cake. In fact, he was a little perturbed I stopped him from eating just so I could take a picture!)

Anywhere Chair

When Cody turned one, Aunt Leslie and Nana bought him an Anywhere Chair from Pottery Barn Kids.

Cody loved it so much they decided each time one of my kids turn one, they'll get them a chair of their own. Since Cade will be one on Tuesday, he received his Anywhere Chair today!!

Cade loves his chair, he loves sitting in it, climbing out of it, and then back in it again...over and over and over!

As much as my kids love their chairs, my sister and my mom are probably very thankful they only have to buy one more chair after this one!

Our Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day was great!

After the kids got all of their goodies this morning, I made them heart shaped blueberry pancakes for breakfast.

While the older kids were at school, I tried to get some good pictures of the little ones. Easier said than done. I got a few good ones of Cody and Cade by themselves but getting a good one of them together was a nightmare. Cade is still not feeling well so he wasn't too excited about my little photo shoot.

I guess I didn't think the kids got enough candy and chocolate from all their friends, parents, grandparents, neighbors, etc. because I decided to make them chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

We had a great day and T.J. got me an awesome little pink purse that I love! It's like carrying a wallet around and not having to lug every thing else with it! Best part of it is, he thought of it all on his own!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is what the kids are going to wake up to in the morning!

It looks like the Valentine Armadillo came early tonight so I was able to take a picture so you can see what the kids are getting before they do!

For those who don't know who the Valentine Armadillo is, you'll have to ask my mom about it!

I made the little mailboxes for each of the kids so they will have some special notes from each other and from TJ and I when they wake up!

I hate the flu

It all started last Monday when McKinly called me from school to come pick her up because she wasn't feeling well. She wasn't running a fever but just felt awful. By that night, she was burning up! McKinly has been with her mom through all this because they didn't want me or the two little ones getting sick. McKinly has been running a fever for 9 days straight now and we still can't see the end in sight. She woke up screaming last night of an earache and her mom took her to the doctor to find out she also has a bad ear infection!

I wish I could say that having her away all this time spared us from the flu bug, but that wasn't the case. Last night Cade had a 103.1 fever and it has yet to go away. This morning I had to call the doctor because his fever got up to 104.5.

The poor baby is miserable. He just sits there looking pitiful and there is nothing I can do. I am keeping liquids in him and trying to alternate between Motrin and Tylenol to keep the fever down but the only relief he has had is 101.7!

I hate when any of my kids are sick but it's so much harder when the babies are sick because he can't tell me what's wrong. This is only the first day, if it's anything like McKinly's then we have another eight days of this at least!!!

If you can't beat him, trick him!

Since we use the Podee bottle, Cade has never had to hold his own bottle. This might be seen as a negative but trust me, the positives totally out weigh this little set back.

Right now we're in the process of getting rid of the bottle all together and getting him used to using cups (sippy cups of course). However, since he has never had to hold his own bottle, he doesn't think he should have to hold his own cup. It's not that he CAN'T do it because I have seen him, he just doesn't like to hold it up long enough to get a good drink.

He starts to get a little frustrated and then will proceed to throw the cup across the room. I really don't want him to hate using a cup since the bottle will be gone within a few weeks. So, imagine my excitement when I found a new sippy cup made by Munchkin that has a soft silicone nipple that is attached to a STRAW!!!

I wasn't the only one excited, Cade loved it too. Because of this genius contraption, Cade only required two bottles today!

Cody's Valemtimes!

The other day we were at the store and Cody saw a box of Valentines he wanted. Since the other kids get them to give to their friends at school I always let Cody pick up a box and give them to the kids around our neighborhood.

This is not just an ordinary box of Valentines or "Valemtimes" as Cody calls them, this is a special box. They have Diego on them and they even come with stickers. The thing is, I told Cody he can't open the box until we have time to sit down and fill them all out so we don't lose any of them. That was fine with him as long as I let him carry the box around.

Wherever.we.go.

The box goes with us to the store, it goes with us to school, to a restaurant, to the park, the bathroom, and even to bed.

I don't really think I have to add this but I think he's a little excited. It's very cute and one day I might even open them and let him fill them out! Who knows though, he's very happy with just the box, even if the box is slightly torn up now from all the attention it gets.

Baby Crack

He gets very excited when we turn Baby Einstein on. If we turn it off, he gets very angry.

T.J. calls it Baby Crack!
