Madrid Day 1

We all tried to get a decent night's sleep on the airplane (which is pretty impossible unless you're able to score three empty seats all to yourself like Meghan did) so we would be ready to go as soon as the plane landed.

Even though no one really got much sleep, we were all too excited to think about how tired we really were.

As soon as the plane landed, we got our bags, found our bus and made it to our hotel.  After we checked in and got settled, it was time to go explore...

Our guide for the entire trip, Francisco.

From the hotel, we walked to a park in the middle of the city.  Kind of like their version on Central Park.

After the park, we then made our way to the Prado Museum of Art.

At the Prado, all the explanations were in Spanish therefore Jessica Little decided to entertain everyone by making up her own stories of the interpretations of all the paintings.

After the museum, we all began to feel the jet lag setting in.

Everyone started waking up a little when Francisco took us to the Plaza de Mayor.  This is the place where the movie Vantage Point was to have taken place.

Here is a nice picture of some of the girls and one very tired, random tourist.  Passed out, mouth open and all!

Everyone listening to Francisco

Picture of Jessica in front of the meat shop.  Not a big fan of the meat!

I can only get internet in the lobby and I tried posting last night but I kept falling asleep so that's why it's a little late.  I will try to do better tonight.

Looks like an awesome way to begin your trip. Love all the pics. I woul say it's like being there, but that is a lie so it is really the next best thing. Can't wait to see more!
